Monica Holmes
In March of 2007, Monica Holmes, successfully completed the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s basic rider course and began her love affair with the adventure of motorcycling.  She became an experienced rider on the streets of Manhattan commuting to work. 

In 2008 she set off on her BMW R1200GS (a.k.a. Spike) on a solo cross-country trip from Harlem and arrived in Los Angeles 18 days later.  In September of 2010 beginning in Manhattan she and Spike traveled to Memphis.


A former collegiate and professional volleyball player, she has been a nationally ranked hitter and an NCAA Division I coach.  She holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and an M.A. from Columbia University.  Monica is also an American Sailing Association certified instructor and an MSF Rider Coach at Big Apple Motorcycle School.
